Protective Railings

We offer protective railings of the portfenetr type designed for direct mounting on aluminum and PVC profiles. The Decalu railing system serves as an excellent alternative to traditional balconies. It performs exceptionally well in both traditional and modern construction, making it an ideal complement to any contemporary arrangement.

The protective railings available in our offer can be installed:

  • on aluminum windows with a minimum thickness of 1.6 mm (in the axis of screw mounting),
  • on PVC windows with profiles of at least class B with steel reinforcement, with a minimum thickness of 1.5 mm.

The Decalu railing system

The „Portfenetr” railings encompass railings designed for direct installation on window profiles. The „Portfenetr” railings protect against falling in the case of too short a windowsill. They can be mounted on aluminum windows with a minimum thickness of 1.6 mm (in the axis of screw mounting) or on PVC windows with profiles of at least class B with steel reinforcement, with a minimum thickness of 1.5 mm. They can be used in buildings with usage categories A, B, C1 + C4 according to PN-EN 1991-1-1, i.e., residential buildings, office spaces, and public utility spaces. The maximum wind load for the largest allowable glass dimensions is 1.26 kN/m2. The surfaces of aluminum profiles and covers are corrosion-resistant, protected through powder coating or anodized oxide coatings.

Specification

The system mainly consists of P-B00-1010 profiles, assembled with an aluminum window profile using stainless steel MS screws or with a PVC window profile using galvanized steel screws with a diameter of 5.5mm and a minimum length of 60mm. The aluminum latch P-B00-1011 is used to cover the mounting holes in the main profiles. The lower plugs of the main profiles A-B00-1132 also support the glass and are fastened to the profiles with four A2 stainless steel screws A-WG-H5538.

A-B00-1141 PVC glazing pads are adhesive-mounted on the plugs A-B00-1132. PVC pads A-PS-402 are placed in the settling chambers of the P-B00-1010 profile to secure the glass against breakage. The glasses are linearly mounted along the vertical edges through external seals A-GS-2000R and internal seals A-GS-2020 (for ESG 88.2 or ESG 88.4 glasses) or A-GS-2021 (for ESG 66.2 or ESG 66.4 glasses). The seals are made of EPDM. The main profiles are closed from the top with plugs A-B00-1133L and A-B00-1133P fastened with two stainless steel screws A2 A-WS-H5538. Glazing pads A-B00-1141 made of hard PVC are also adhered to the plugs A-B00-1133L and A-B00-1133P. The upper cap also protects against glass removal from the top. The glass on the upper edge is secured against breakage with an aluminum sheath P-B00-1015 (for ESG 66.2 or ESG 66.4 glass) or P-B00-1016 (for ESG 88.2 or ESG 88.4 glass). The handrail is attached to the glass using adhesive A-B00-9920; the application should be carried out on clean, degreased surfaces at temperatures from +5 °C to +35 °C.

The aluminum profiles are extruded from EN AW-6060 aluminum alloy according to PN-EN 573-3, in T66 state according to PN-EN 515, and meet the requirements specified in PN-EN 755-1. Their mechanical properties comply with PN-EN 755-2. Dimensional tolerances of the profiles follow PN-EN 12020-2.

The surfaces of aluminum profiles and covers are corrosion-resistant, protected through powder coating or anodized oxide coatings.
