Statistics in Poland are getting worse, but we know how to fix it

Police statistics show that in Poland, there are over 70,000 burglaries in homes and apartments every year, with the majority occurring through interference with window joinery. While Western European countries can boast a decreasing number of break-ins, in Poland, this number has been steadily increasing for years. In our Western neighbors’ countries, the decline in these unfortunate statistics was due to security services, led by the German police, directing numerous informational campaigns to citizens about burglary prevention. As anti-burglary measures began to be implemented more widely, the number of break-ins decreased year by year. It is evident that the remedy for the increasing number of burglaries is an elevated standard of carpentry.

Plastixal and safety

The strategy of building the PLASTIXAL brand has been based on products that meet elevated safety standards, and we place particular emphasis on safety. Evidence of this is the range of products produced in an increased class of burglary resistance (RC1, RC2, RC3), including the recently introduced Sereniti Plus window in the RC3 class.

Awareness of the need for safety is growing

We have noticed a growing number of customers who, even before making a purchase, are determined to buy a product that meets the appropriate class of burglary resistance or fire resistance. This indicates an increasing awareness among consumers regarding products that enhance the safety of people inside buildings. We believe that especially in times of increasing break-ins into homes and apartments, it is the role of window and door manufacturers to educate and inform consumers about the crucial role that windows and doors play in deterring potential intruders.

Despite the positive trend of increasing public awareness about prevention standards, Plastixal has taken proactive measures to ensure the safety of its customers. They have already introduced a new, higher standard for PVC joinery.

Under this new higher standard, customers will gain the following features according to technological capabilities:

  • 5 anti-burglary locking points in each casement and casement-tilt window.
  • 2 anti-burglary locking points in each tilt window.
  • A handle misposition lock, along with a sash lifter, in all casement-tilt windows.

The enhanced standard for PVC joinery becomes effective on March 16, 2020.
